Creating an Account
- To create an account with www.rafcom.co.uk follow these simple instructions:
- Click on Sign In / Register on the left and then click on Register.
- Complete the registration form, selecting a username for yourself and a password. Remember
your username should be recognisable to your family (not obscene!) and your password should
be memorable (although the webmaster can help in this regard if you forget it).
- The system was set up before JPA so individuals with the new JPA Service Numbers should
contact the Webmaster (webmaster@rafcom.co.uk)
and he will give you the correct check digit.
- Registration is instantaneous! You will receive an email confirming
your username and password straight away and you are then registered.
- Forums
To go on to your Sqn or Unit Forum, go to the homepage, www.rafcom.co.uk and
click on Unit Information Exchange at the bottom of the list on the left hand
side of the page. Click on Select a Unit, select your unit and hit ‘Go’.
You now have access to the forum and the Chat Room.
- Chat Rooms
You will see that once in the Chat Room, you can see who else is in at that time to chat to.
You can decide to chat with 'All' or just an individual. Again, this is almost instantaneous.
Chat Rooms have been restricted to RAF, Ex-RAF and their families to chat and post questions.
- WARNING - Parents and young adults view
the information on Internet Safety on the Internet.
- NOTE: You should note that you can have 2 MORE accounts
using your Service number, so partner and parents/children can have a log in to contact
you through chat or utilise the forum. Note that you are responsible for their
behaviour!
- RAFCom Mail (separate login)
Click on RAFCom Mail on the left and then log in.
RAFCom Mail offers you a way to obtain your own e-mail account, which allows you to send or
receive e-mails anywhere in the world. The setup of the program allows access at low modem
speeds and stop junk mail. RAFCom Mail is open to RAF, Ex-RAF and their families.
- WARNING - Users of the MOD Internet Gateway
Service are unable to use RAFCOM mail.
- Note: The time zone used within RAFCom Mail is Eastern
Standard Time (EST). This will be changed on the introduction of a new server.
- System Requirements
Requires a 128bit browser. Older browsers may not function for the registration process.
