Bereavement and Casualty Information
The Child Bereavement Trust (CBT) The Child Bereavement Trust is a national UK charity. It was founded to improve the support offered by professionals to grieving families. Grief in its many forms is one of the most painful experiences that anyone can suffer and every year it happens to thousands of families when their baby or child is dying or has died and when children experience the death of their mother or father, brother or sister. The charity provides specialised training and support for professionals to improve their response to the needs of bereaved families. The CBT produces resources and information for bereaved children and families and the doctors, nurses, midwives, teachers and those in the voluntary sector who help them. All CBT work is based on what families and children have said they need in the immediate crisis and in the months following the death of someone important in their lives. The Child Bereavement Trust works to establish valuable links between the statutory and voluntary sectors, and wholeheartedly supports the principles of cultural diversity and equal opportunity.
