The above rates of pay are not to be applied incrementally. They are shown to provide a point of entry, determined by "years in rank" or "years commissioned Service" for those with previously paid regular commissioned service in the Armed Forces has the beyond entry point; unless the individuals has completed a period of full time service or called out service on the promotion the "appointment rates for the higher rank applies". There is no increment progression beyond the appropriate entry point; on promotion, the appointment" rate for the higher rank applies.
